To ensure that all research undertaken at the Leicester Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit is run effectively we have developed a large and experienced team of dedicated support staff, without whom the research could not take place. This support team work in a variety of roles and they work closely with the Principal Investigators, Clinical and Laboratory staff.
This team have worked within the NHS and medical research for a number of years and are keen to ensure that quality research is given quality support.
The team consists of a wide range of staff including data managers, Ethics & Regulatory affairs managers and officers, administrators and a friendly receptionist to welcome participants and visitors into the unit.
On a day to day basis this large team help:

Undertake the administration of research studies

Help researchers to gain all the necessary approvals to enable the research studies to take place

Collating and managing the large amounts of data and information that is created from the research

Communicating with our regulatory bodies such as the ethics committee, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, the Comprehensive Local Research Network and the National Institute of Health Research.

Ensuring that the research is undertaken to a high standard and that the research complies with guidelines

Greeting participants and dealing with any queries

Help to maintain the smooth running of the building

Organise events for the public and patients

Organise events for the researchers

Manage the website and social media pages

Involve the public and patients in our research via the public and patient involvement group
