23rd February 2015 Leicester People’s Photographic Gallery Competition

a picture of health

Grab your cameras! Fame awaits successful entrants to our photographic competition. Have you ever wanted to see you work on a gallery wall? Brought to you in partnership with the Leicester People’s Photographic Gallery, here’s your chance.

You are invited to submit images for an exhibition in June 2015 on a theme of Science: Hearts, Lungs and Fitness.

This call comes from the National Institute of Health Research Biomedical Research Units in Leicester and Loughborough. Part of the NHS, these units are based in the local hospitals and universities and work to find out more about the genetics, treatments and prevention of ill-health.

Images should be submitted to rp237@le.ac.uk by 11th May 2015 for review and selection.

Entry is free, but selected images will need to be printed and mounted on foam board at the artist’s expense. The image size must be specified in the submission email and must not be larger than A3

Ten days after the call has closed (21st May 2015) you will be notified by email which of your images have been selected. The printed and mounted images can then be delivered to the Leicester Peoples Photographic Gallery (dates to be confirmed) or Cardiovascular Research Centre, Glenfield Hospital.

A People’s Award will be voted for by visitors to the Preview Evening. The winning artist will have their work reproduced as a canvas print.

The exhibition will run from 29th June 2015 to 17th July 2015 at the Leicester Peoples Photographic Gallery, and a preview night will be held on 2nd July 2015.
