UHL together with the Stop Smoking Service have produced an emotional ‘pulls on the heart strings’ high quality film called ‘Emily’s Story’ to help staff remember the message of ‘Ask, advise, act’. The film will be used across the country to train healthcare staff.

On Friday 27th September 2013 the Leicester Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit (BRU) was officially opened by Sir Peter Soulsby, Leicester City Major. Speeches were also given at the unveiling by University Hospitals of Leicester Chief Executive John Adler and University of Leicester Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Bob Burgess.
